Paddywax Classic Collection Gets a Sophisticated New Look; Adds Five Exciting Fragrances
ATLANTA, GA, June 1, 2005 – Everyone knows that fragrance and look make a candle. Fortunately, Paddywax, an artisan candle company known for its innovative fragrances and fresh style, know that to be true as well. This spring Paddywax launched their Stripes Collection – a simple and sophisticated update of their classic glass candles. Each eight ounce glass is hand-tied with a black and white stitched ribbon and comes packaged in a chic, white and black box with multicolored stripes that appear once the box is opened, giving the recipient a colorful surprise.
In addition to new packaging, Paddywax has added five new fragrances – Blood Orange, Mission Fig, Peony, Bittersweet Chocolate and Verbena – to its long list of best-sellers, like Olive Tree and Mango Cilantro. Each candle is hand-poured using the finest natural fragrance oils and vegetable wax blend to ensure a long and fragrant burn time. The colorful and highly fragrant candles are a chic accessory in any home and make wonderful gifts as well.
Eight years ago Gretchen Hollingsworth, owner and creator of Paddywax, began making candles in her kitchen to give as gifts for family and friends. This hobby-turned-career grew when she met her husband, David Duncan, who brought enthusiasm and good business sense to the partnership. Shortly after, Paddywax was born and became an instant hit. Over the years the line, which began with colorful layered candles in imaginative scents, has expanded to include eight unique collections that appeal to any and all tastes. Gretchen and David’s love of life’s joys – family, travel, and food– are their biggest inspirations and help to keep Paddywax fresh, fun and a leader in the industry.
Paddywax candles are made in the United States and are sold in fine department stores and specialty retail boutiques, including Fred Segal, Anthropologie and Bloomingdales, across the country. The poured candles (8 oz.) in the Stripes Collection have a burn time of 60 hours and retail for $18.
